On a show, Matthew McConaughey had a weird encounter with a wax figure of himself. The actor and author of Just Because was surprised to see his newly unveiled Madame Tussauds wax figure live onstage, right in front of the studio audience.
This lifelike wax figure depicted McConaughey, who is 53 years old, dressed in a stylish suit, rightfully bringing out his charismatic presence. As the figure was revealed, McConaughey couldn’t help but express his amazement. He walked up to the wax doppelganger and even recreated his remarkable smoldering look into the camera, a move that amazed not only the audience but also the show’s co-hosts, including Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar.
The moment was filled with surprise and amusement as McConaughey got to experience the unbelievable resemblance between himself and the wax figure, leaving everyone, including the actor himself, feeling a bit dazed by the remarkable creation.
I feel like AI is alive and well,
McConaughey said, as he circled the wax figure,
hands on hips, taking in the uncanny resemblance.
I don’t remember when, but I did wear this suit, and I remember those shoes!
he said in awe, when he pointed out that his wax figure even wore a wedding band,
similar to his own, with the engraving “6.22”.
If the figure is as good at giving foot rubs,
Goldberg hilariously asked, as McConaughey gave co-host Joy Behar, who is 80 years old, a foot massage, reenacting a viral moment from 2006.
He does this — he does the foot rub from here,
he said, playfully wiggling his hands in front of the figure while standing behind it, adding to the lighthearted moment.
That is wild … it feels like it’s alive,
the actor added, gazing at his wax figure.
Matthew McConaughey‘s appearance coincided with the release of his debut children’s book, Just Because, which became available in stores on Tuesday.
It came to me at 2:30 a.m. as a ditty in a dream,
he told a source earlier this month on being asked how he came up with the idea for his book.
It was a song in my mind, and I got up and wrote it down.
Just Because is a heartful collection of life lessons and puzzles expressed through rhymes. McConaughey shared that the picture book has given birth to meaningful conversations with his children Levi, 15, Vida, 13, and Livingston, 10, as well as with his wife Camila Alves McConaughey and even his judicious mother, Kay. The actor with Just Because wanted to relatable converse with families and bring out the child in all of us.
For enthusiastic young readers, the book is currently available for purchase on Amazon.com.
