James Gunn was fired from Disney in 2018 after his old and objectionable tweets resurfaced.
Here’s everything you need to know:
Why Was James Gunn Fired?
James Gunn is well-known for being the director of the Guardian of the Galaxy trilogy, but he has been fired from his job. Yes, you heard it right! Back in 2018, James was fired from Disney executive Alan Horn.
The reason behind this was the objectionable tweets about rape, 9/11, and pedophilia made by James a few years back that resurfaced on the internet. James Gunn recently spoke about the incident and how hard it was for him in a YouTube interview with Michael Rosenbaum on his channel called Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum.
James Gunn Got all the Support From the Cast of GOTG
James share how miserable he was at that time as he was not even able to sleep. Gunn tells how the cast of GOTH was there to support him and helped him in his time of need.
Gunn also took responsibility for his actions saying “I have regretted them for many years since — not just because they were stupid, not at all funny, wildly insensitive, and certainly not provocative like I had hoped, but also because they don’t reflect the person I am today or have been for some time.”
Gunn Was Hired Back in 2019
As we all know now that James Gunn directed the last part of the GOTG trilogy and all thanks to Alan Horn who corrected his mistake and hired the director back.
