Dwayne Johnson revealed the future of his character, Luke Hobbs in the Fast & Furious franchise.
After a post-credit scene in the newly released Fast X, the latest installment in the franchise, fan were excited to see Dwayne Johnson. The actor took to twitter and answered the fans’ questions regarding the fate of his character.
In his tweet and subsequent video he revealed, “Luke Hobbs will be returning to the fast and furious franchise”.
Dwayne Johnson’s Journey As Luke Hobbs
Dwayne Johnson first brought his character “Luke Hobbs” to life in Fast 5, the fifth installment in the franchise. He reprised this role in the 3 subsequent sequels. However, in August 2016, The Rock began a feud with co-star Vin Diesel with an Instagram post where he insulted unnamed members of the cast but did not mention Diesel by name.
Diesel fired back by refusing to thank The Rock while thanking the rest of the cast in an Instagram post. He also went on to confirm that he was the target of the previous posts. While the other cast members have given varying statement on the issue, there is no denying that there is an unspoken tension between the two actors.
Due to this, Johnson promised to never make a movie with Vin Diesel. While he played the character of Luke Hobbs in a spin-off “Fast and Furious presents: Hobbs and Shaw,” he was absent from F9.
But with this post-credit, the actor went on to state in his tweet “Vin and I put the past behind us” and this means we will be seeing much more of our favorite lawman sharing the screen with Vin Diesel in the coming installments.
