The Black Panther 2 actor withdraws from the upcoming project due to damaging allegations
Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta, known for his role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, has announced his departure from the Netflix film ‘Fiesta En La Madriguera’ following allegations of sexual assault. In a statement obtained by Deadline, Huerta expressed the impact of recent false accusations made by María Elena Ríos and the resulting damage, leading to his decision to withdraw from the project.
Protecting Reputation and Work
Huerta stated that he reluctantly made this decision to prevent any harm caused by Ríos’ actions, not only to himself but also to the dedicated individuals involved in the film. Expressing sadness, he emphasized the need to safeguard his reputation and allow the restoration process to continue.
Allegations and Denial
The accusations against Huerta include sexual abuse, specifically stealthing, which he vehemently denies. In a previous statement, the actor acknowledged having been in a consensual relationship with Ríos and expressed that their interactions were always loving, warm, and supportive. However, he claimed that Ríos began misrepresenting their relationship after it ended, both privately and in front of mutual friends.
Taking Legal Action and Future Projects
In response to the allegations, Huerta has engaged a legal team to protect his reputation and refute the “irresponsible and false accusations” that could cause significant prejudice and harm. While he exits ‘Fiesta En La Madriguera,’ Huerta remains attached to Netflix’s upcoming series, ‘El Elegido’ (The Chosen One), alongside Dianna Agron and Bobby Luhnow. The series, previewed at the Tudum global fan festival, is set to be released in August.
