Star-studded ensemble cast lead by DC actor Jason Momoa is present in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
James Wan’s Aquaman 2, which stars Jason Momoa as the title character and features the Kingdom of Atlantis for one more adventure, is anticipated to be the DCEU’s farewell film.
Jason Momoa in Aquaman 2
The next DC sequel features Jason Momoa returning as Arthur Curry (a.k.a. Aquaman) for, presumably, one final time.
Arthur assumes the roles of king of Atlantis and guardian of the waters at the conclusion of Aquaman, and Aquaman 2 is anticipated to emphasize this duty.
Due to the upcoming DC relaunch, discussions on Momoa’s time as Aquaman have gained attention. Although Momoa previously placed doubt on a potential third movie, it is unsure if the actor’s iteration will continue into the new DC Universe.
Amber Heard in Aquaman 2
Amber Heard is scheduled to reprise her role as Mera in Aquaman 2 despite the controversy she encountered with her husband Johnny Depp and negative fan reaction. One of many things that makes Hollywood ‘spineless.’
Heard will only appear on screen for “20 minutes” in the follow-up, according to a story from The Wrap in August 2022, implying that she will have a supporting part. Mera’s pregnancy in the movie was made known during the actress’ legal dispute, demonstrating her diminished involvement.
Patrick Wilson in Aquaman 2
Orm Marius, played by Patrick Wilson, will reprise his role as the major antagonist from the previous film in Aquaman 2.
In addition to donning a new appearance, Orm will (reluctantly) pair up with Momoa’s Aquaman to attempt to battle an unidentified menace, according to Warner Bros.’ CinemaCon presentation in April 2022.
Dolph Lundgren
As King Nereus, the ruler of Xebel and the father of Mera, Dolph Lundgren is slated to make a comeback.
However, the actor did claim that Aquaman 2 is “better” than its predecessor, hinting that the “script is stronger and it’s more exciting.” It remains to be seen how King Nereus fits into the overall Aquaman 2 picture.
Randall Park
In Aquaman 2, Randall Park will return to the character of Dr. Stephen Shin.
The man in the first movie was quite consumed with demonstrating the existence of Atlantis, and it appears that this fixation will continue in the sequel when he teamed up with Black Manta to battle the titular hero.
Park is well-known for playing Jimmy Woo in the MCU. The Interview, Always Be My Maybe, and Fresh of the Boat are a few of the actor’s notable acting accomplishments.
Nicole Kidman
In the DC sequel, Nicole Kidman will reprise her role as Atlanna, the former monarch of Atlantis and Arthur’s biological mother.
The Golden Compass, The Invasion, Rabbit Hole, and Batman Forever are just a few of Kidman’s prior works.
Vincent Regan
As King Atlan, Vincent Regan will return—possibly through flashbacks. The persona held the position of the first king of Atlantis before it was submerged and was the possessor of the potent trident.
Ben Afflcek
It is unknown whether or not Ben Affleck’s moments from his second appearance as Bruce Wayne in Aquaman 2 will be kept.
Affleck’s return to DC in the sequel was accidentally revealed in July 2022 by the film’s lead actor, Jason Momoa, who made note of how much he “[loves] that guy” and how they had “too much fun” on filming.
It’s unclear how the sequel will explain Ben Affleck’s appearance, especially in light of how George Clooney’s Bruce Wayne supplanted the role in The Flash’s other world.
