Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan have been stealing our hearts in Marvel movies for the past few years, but now they’re finally taking center stage with Disney+’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The miniseries, which premiered on March 19, sees the two superheroes, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, team up for a “global adventure that tests their abilities — and their patience.”
While Anthony and Sebastian’s characters aren’t exactly friends to start with, the actors are super close in real life. When they’re not laughing it up at Comic-Con or sharing behind-the-scenes Instagrams from filming, they’re cutting up during interviews. See some of their cutest friendship moments ahead.
Their chemistry made the duo into fan favorites, but they weren’t always close friends. According to Men’s Health, the two “didn’t hit it off when they first met,” working together on Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2017. Because Stan is reportedly a fairly quiet person, he and Mackie didn’t really bond until they spent the movie’s press tour together.
Stan has also been consistently candid about his ongoing journey with self-image and mental health. In a 2019 post-workout Instagram share, Stan showcased his ripped torso, telling followers that it came after “years of self judgement and mental wars when it comes to fitness and LIFE.”
Whether it’s causing trouble on their press tours or staring intensely into each others eyes, Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie have the kind of friendship that most of us only dream of, and fans will get to see more of the the duo in the upcoming Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
they became the best buds we know and love today. Those same press tours draw fans to the duo today, as Stan and Mackie are known to dance, compliment each other, and drag Tom Holland during interviews.
And of course, fans of the duo (also lovingly known as Stackie, MackStan, and SebAnthony—take your pick) often show their love for the two actors online with memes, because at the end of the day, we all want one thing: for someone to look at us the way Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie look at each other.
