Sony’s upcoming movie Venom 2 gets an official title, now being called Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Sony released the first Venom film in October 2018, starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, who merges with an alien symbiote to become the anti-hero Venom. The film wasn’t necessarily a critical success, though some Venom movie reviews found fun in the dynamic between Eddie and the symbiote. Still, Venom earned $856.1 million at the box office, cementing it as a box office success.
As such, it came as little surprise when Sony put Venom 2 into development, with Hardy to return. The sequel would follow on from the Venom post-credits scene that introduced Carnage. After months of rumors and reports regarding Woody Harrelson’s involvement in the first film, the actor didn’t appear until the very end, in a scene introducing the serial killer Cletus Kasady, who becomes the villainous symbiote Carnage in the comics. Now, the sequel gets an official title paying homage to the villain.
