One of the contenders to join James Gunn’s DCU is Bill Skarsgrd. Bill and his brother Alexander Skarsgrd were both mentioned in a story that surfaced just before it was made public that David Corenswet and Rachel Borsnahan will play Clark Kent and Lois Lane in Superman: Legacy.
Bill Skarsgrd: The Perfect Villain?
The youngest child of the performing family has already shown his prowess in the superhero genre in Deadpool 2, when he portrayed Zeitgeist, a member of the X-Force under Wade Wilson, played by Ryan Reynolds.
Bill Skarsgrd portrayed the malevolent clown Pennywise in the popular fourth John Wick movie and appeared as a villain in the most current version of Stephen King’s classic IT.
Nevertheless, even if he isn’t cast as Luthor in Superman: Legacy, he would unquestionably be a terrific option to play another foe of the DC heroes, such as the Joker, for example. On his Instagram page, the artist Youssef Defenshi shared a photo of actor Alexander Skarsgrd transformed into Batman’s archenemy, demonstrating why he’d be an excellent option for the part.
In the eagerly anticipated Todd Phillips sequel, Joaquin Phoenix will reprise his role as Arthur Fleck and explore in great detail the Joker’s journey through Arkham Asylum, a key location in the Caped Crusader’s mythos. The sequel, however, will also feature Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn in addition to Arthur.
Joker: The poisonous and twisted love affair between Harley and Arthur will be told in the guise of a musical in Folie a Deux, a decision that has stunned viewers and will definitely set the movie apart, for better or worse.
The Joker may not be necessary in James Gunn’s DC Extended Universe given that Joaquin Phoenix is already portraying a well-regarded version of the villain, and Keoghan may play him in The Batman Part 2 or any other upcoming Batman project. However, if he does appear, Bill Skarsgrd would make a good choice to play him.
