Morgan Wade, a 28-year-old country singer from Floyd, Virginia, formed the Stepbrothers when she was still a college student.
Wade revealed to Rolling Stone in 2021 that she formed the band in an effort to both irritate and win back her ex-boyfriend.

The singer chuckled that meeting her bandmates on Craigslist was “the safest thing for a 19-year-old female to do.”
Before collaborating with the Thirty Tigers record company on her debut album, “Reckless,” which was published in 2021 and peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard folk albums list, Wade self-released her own EP, “Puppets with My Heart,” back in 2018.
In August 2023, the star’s second album, “Psychopath,” will be released. According to Wade, the title tune is somewhat of a love ballad.
Wade said: “It’s like, ‘What the hell was I doing before I met you? I don’t even fucking know!’ When you look at the title, you don’t assume that’s a love song. But it is. I kinda dig that.”
After Richards allegedly listened to Wade’s songs and then “stalked” the musician on Instagram in 2022, Wade and Richards eventually crossed paths.
“The most unlikely of friendships some may think but kinship knows no boundaries,” Richards said in an Instagram post from February 2022.
Wade invited Richards to the iHeartRadio Music Festival and the Americana Music Awards in September of 2022.
Richards just posted images of them both in the gym and on vacation to Instagram.
